Woods Hole is at the end of a peninsula and is surrounded by water. It is a wonderful beach getaway in the summer, and convenient to WHOI, MBL and Martha's Vineyard. Visitors come to relax by the shore, or do business in the area, or to spend a night before crossing over to the Vineyard.

Woods Hole in summer is a bustling town packed with waterfront restaurants, quaint local shops and many activities. There are art galleries, an aquarium, whale watching boats, bikes to rent for the Shining Sea bike path, two wonderful beaches within walking distance, a charming old-fashioned drawbridge to watch sailboats pass through, tennis courts and a great kids park.
